The Future of Fashion?


   Imagine an icy blue shoe rubber polyurethane and stainless steel or other fashioned from leather and fiberglass - these are some of the elements in an exciting fashion show is scheduled to open next month in Kilkenny. "I wanted to connect to reach out to young actors and decision-makers - we never showed shoe designer before," says Angela O'Kelly what Irish jeweler and curator of the craftsmanship that has established show for the next 40 Kilkenny Arts Festival. Couture: Fashion Future highlights the work of six famous fashion designer shoes and for their innovative technical skills and new approaches to contemporary textile design.

Exhibitors are Una Burke, for his magic carved leather and brass jewelry extraordinary body Stephanie Bila and artist Ana Rajcevic mode known works at the intersection of sculpture and fashion. These are the three shoe designers, but the group dominate Brazil has Andreia Chaves Irish silversmith Kevin O'Dwyer, Julia Lundsten of Finn, who won numerous awards for its handmade shoes and Marloes ten Bhömer won together the generated 3D-printed and other innovative shoes.

The 40 rooms of the exhibition explores the sculptural aesthetics of wearing parts. "Their craftsmanship and design approach is exquisite," says O'Kelly group. "And there is a sense of modern design, new materials, new technology and 3D printing shows that the smartest design, password and limitations." This is the first time, for example, that Andreia Chaves his shoes written in a gallery Format. "It is the combination of his talents with those of the goldsmith Kevin O'Dwyer and applies his art to a whole different aesthetic," says O'Kelly.

The exhibition opens 9 August and runs until 16 October at the National Gallery of craftsmanship. This place fits in parallel: the scenes with the four suits underwear Abbey Theatre productions.
